Hu
Hanrahan is Professor of Communications Engineering in
the School of Electrical Engineering and
Information Engineering at the University of the
Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. He received
the B.Sc.(Eng) degree with distinction from the
University of the Witwatersrand in 1962 and the Ph.D
from the same institution in 1969.
He
leads CeTAS, the Centre
for Telecommunications Access and Services, a
research and advanced teaching centre devoted to
improving knowledge and practice in the evolving
telecommunications access network and telecommunications
services. CeTAS has been the home of the South African
TINA Trial (SATINA) project.
He
teaches graduate courses in the Masters programme:
Integrated Digital Communications, Intelligent Networks
and Introduction to Next Generation Networks.
